Snip and Chip for Cats

Snip and Chip is a simple, affordable service available across New Zealand that combines cat desexing (the “snip”) with microchipping (the “chip”). Desexing helps prevent unwanted litters, reduces roaming and spraying, and supports healthier, happier cats. Microchipping provides your pet with a permanent form of identification, giving peace of mind if they are ever lost or injured. Many councils and animal organisations support Snip and Chip, making responsible pet ownership easier and more accessible.

Once you have done this, please email admin@hcvet.nz to let them know, as we don’t get automatically updated. This will then prompt us to register you, if you’re not already in our system, and email you an invoice for the $30 client part payment.

We will often offer you a potential date, but this will not be confirmed until you have paid the invoice.

Once this is all underway, you’ll get an email with all the usual pre op instructions, where to come and consent form.
